How to Remove Bacteria & Mould from Wooden Spoons?

Keeping Your Kitchen Safe with Hydrogen Peroxide

Just in from Seven Sharp on TVNZ: Keith Michael, Director of Food Safe, has shared an innovative tip for keeping your kitchen utensils clean and safe. He suggests using hydrogen peroxide 6% to remove bacteria from wooden cooking utensils!

While wood naturally resists bacteria, deep cleaning is essential to prevent hidden germs. Hydrogen peroxide offers sanitising properties that can help ensure not just your wooden spoons, but also wooden chopping boards, plastic chopping boards, and other kitchen utensils are bacteria-free.

For an even more effective solution, consider using Forsana's Enhanced Hydrogen Peroxide 6%. This product is clinically proven to kill 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, including foodborne and waterborne diseases like E. coli, Listeria, Norovirus, and Salmonella. It's also safe for your family, pets, and the environment, breaking down into just water and oxygen.

How to Use Hydrogen Peroxide:

  • Soak wooden spoons, wooden chopping boards, and other wooden utensils in the Forsana Power Cleaner (6% Food-Grade Hydrogen Peroxide) for about 15 minutes.
  • For plastic chopping boards and other non-wooden utensils, you can spray the hydrogen peroxide and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing.
  • Rinse all items thoroughly and let them air dry.

Stay safe and healthy in the kitchen by incorporating these simple cleaning hacks into your routine!
